This hose funnels pressurized blow-by gases and oil vapors from the cylinder head cover to the air/oil separator — a critical emissions and engine health component. When it cracks or hardens with age, oil mist enters the intake, causing rough idle, increased oil consumption, and excessive crankcase pressure that is often misdiagnosed.
